Publication of 'Governance Action on the NAO’s Annual Report on Public Accounts 2024 and other NAO reports 2025

On Monday, 28 September 2026, the Principal Permanent Secretary, Tony Sultana, presented this year’s Governance Action report to the Auditor General, Charles Deguara. The report focuses on the National Audit Office’s Annual Report on the Public Accounts 2024, as well as other NAO reports issued in 2025.

The report reveals that the Public Administration implemented 90.4% of the actions required to address the NAO’s recommendations, representing an increase of 4% over the previous year. For the first time, the exercise also extended to three local councils, where 96% of the identified actions were implemented. In total, 490 actions were identified and addressed.
